I agree that by all accounts, Ti’ Punch is widely enjoyed in the French-heritage islands. Alas! that I don’t have first-hand knowledge of this. What I was trying to get at, and stated poorly (and from a very US-centered point of view), is that Ti’ Punch seems to have a fairly regional following in the US—it seems to be common mainly in the Louisiana parishes around New Orleans that have a strong French and Creole history and heritage. As I say, I don’t know if the drink is actually more popular in that area than in the islands.

Thanks for noticing that inconsistency, and for raising my attention. I’ll see if I can rework that part to make a little more sense.

The drink is a tradition in the French-speaking Caribbean states as you mentioned, and that is where it originated.
